Fall Wedding Inspiration~Unexpected...

Click Pic For A larger View

Hello Everybody~

As fall approaches I am very nostalgic about the smell of the air, the highly anticipated crisp breezes and of course the beautiful colors. Don't get me wrong, orange and yellow and red, oh's gorgeous, but I am always looking for new ways to showcase non-traditional colors and features that don't stand out in the typical fall pallet.

I have recently become drawn to the look of raw materials. Maybe it has something to do with my hobby of refurbing furniture and stripping it before I recreate it, but either way raw is beautiful to me. With this being said, the look of raw cotton blossoms totally screams fall in my ear. Since cotton is harvested typically in September and October, it is the perfect unique touch for a fall wedding. Paired with a deep teal, this combo is superb and can even carry over into the winter months. I hope this inspiration gives you some new ideas for your own unique fall combo!

Jazz It Up With A Jeweled Belt!

Hey Yall!

I'm sure everyone has seen and possibly followed the trend of the Monique Lhuillier-esque, ribbon belted wedding gown. While this trend is still very popular, and beautiful I must say, a new belt has come to town...the jeweled belt. I have posted some pics of beautiful belts and a link to a very cute etsy store by Kacey Higley, where you can jazz up your dress for VERY AFFORDABLE PRICES! We always love that right!?! So, if you are looking for that special touch for your most special dress, remember-you have options!

Handmade Flowers Make Me Happy!

Hey Everybody!

Before I start this session can you please sing the title of this blog to the tune of tiny bubbles... OK, now it makes sense. I am about to set up my sewing machine that I got for Christmas-yes I said Christmas-busy year maybe? So, the first thing that I want to make are handmade flowers. I think that handmade flowers are the sweetest little details that you can put on ANYTHING! I tried to incorporate a lot of uses for these handmade delights through the inspiration board I created. (Click on it for a larger view). Fabric flowers can dress up an old shabby armchair, paper flowers can be used instead of fresh for a unique bouquet. Of course, adding them to jewelry is a major trend right now and I always have to suggest ideas for parties (check out the little favor boxes). I will keep you posted on my own handmade flowers as soon as I get my Project Runway Limited Edition, Brother sewing machine set-up and ready to go:) Did I mention that it had a gold lamay jacket on the front of the sewing machine box :(- Hilarious, but no thanks, I'll stick to the flowers!!!

Hey Everybody!
I am so excited to finally get to sit down and blog about this past weekend's events. First off I would like to say congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Michael & Holly Honeycutt. Best wishes to a very sweet couple. You are blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
From the rehearsal dinner, to the ceremony, to the reception-the details were ON POINT! I couldn't have had a better time working with some of Knoxville's Best- Gina with Flower Pot, Bettina with Luxe Catering, Jeff with All Occasions and the wonderfully talented Jennie Andrews. I have included some snap shots of the night-and I will def let you know when the goodies will be posted on my website, courtesy of Miss Jennie:)
My hat's off to everyone for doing a fantastic job and I hope to work with each and every one of you again. And most importantly thank you Michael and Holly for letting me share in your special day! Love you guys.

Cool Down with a Splash of Yellow!

Some of the most memorable summer dresses that I have seen on the red carpet and off have all had something in common~they were yellow! It couldn't get any hotter (well maybe I shouldn't say that), but you know what I mean:) So, why not take advantage of the last few weeks of summer weather by showing off your sun-kissed glow in yellow. There are so many flattering shades, from buttercream all the way to mustard-so there IS a shade out there for you. For me, nothing says summer sunshine like a cute yellow party dress! So, maybe remember this hot trend for your next special night out.

Frills that Thrill!

I guess by now it's obvious that I really like pom poms, ruffles and frilly things. So, I thought I might throw some girly-girl inspiration out there for those of you who like this kinda thing too! I not only love the concept of incorporating embellishments into parties & weddings, but also my wardrobe, my house...MY LIFE:) I hope you enjoy this bit of indulgence, or should I say over indulgence of fancy.
