There once was a time...

Hello Friends!

It's been awhile, I know, and I apologize.  I find that I do a lot of apologizing lately, when it comes to Ruffles & Rouge. So, I think it's time for me to clarify what Ruffles & Rouge is now....  You see there once was a time when I was all about Ruffles & Rouge.  Styling weddings, coordinating weddings, doing makeup for weddings~that's all I did...and loved it.  And then life changed, for the better!!!  We had a baby, and as most of you know, those little boogers seem to change EVERYTHING.  My priorities changed, my passions changed and ultimately, my focus changed.  It was no longer all about weddings.  It became all about Chandler and spending time as a family. And this new focus has been awesome!

But wait~what about Ruffles & Rouge? Well, I still love weddings, but the business has evolved into something that is more personal to me.  It is now functioning in a way which allows me to make time for my new interests, while freeing up more weekends to be with those I love the most.  With that being said, I will still do make up with my wonderful team of hair stylists (mostly in the spring months) and I will still do a bit of styling with my favorite photographers.  So, R&R still exists, we are still out there, just in a different capacity.

I will also keep posting on this blog and update you on the fun things we have been doing and ESPECIALLY info about The Peach Petticoat~which has been a blast!

So, if you need to reach me about beauty and/or styling services, you can email me at: rufflesnrouge@gmail.com or you can visit our NEW URL www.rufflesnrouge.com and "Give Us A Shout" directly through the site!

All My Best~Shanna

Flea Market Decor Magazine Feature!

Hello Friends!
We have had a very busy January and February with the planning of Chandler's 2nd birthday party and a trip to DISNEY WORLD!  So, to say Corey and I need a vacation from our vacation is an understatement.  But, hopefully all that back story may explain my delay in sharing this very exciting post with you guys.

I received a call back in early Fall last year from a lady named Kathleen Birmingham from Flea Market Decor Magazine.  She is a free-lance writer who was interested in some of the weddings and inspirations shoots that I have designed over the past couple of years.  The events focused on my love for incorporating my "junk" into these affairs, as well as helping brides carry on traditions and incorporating family history into their big day!

So, with this interview came the article pictured here in the current March/April 2014 issue of Flea Market Decor.  And may I say~it is opportunities like this, that make me delight in the fact that I have the pleasure of working with the ever-so-talented Julie Roberts!  So a HUGE THANK YOU JULIE for including me in this little gem that I will always cherish!
Happy Designing~

Boutique Lovin'

Hello There Friends and Followers!
I hope your January has been awesome, even if you have been semi-stuck inside like me... So, on this cold day, we wanted to warm you up by introducing you to what we think is a sweet little boutique called
The Peach Petticoat.  We started this little adventure (yes, Corey and I), back in the spring of last year and have had so much fun with it. We began by selling women's jewelry and accessories and then added women's clothing!

Currently, we have a studio space off Papermill Rd in Knoxville.  I did the decorating, of course, and Corey did all the heavy lifting.  We have hosted many little parties and trunk shows over the last few months, such as a Tailgating Open House, a Holiday Open House and even participated in Small Business Saturday!  It was so much fun collaborating with our bestest of friends like Leah Teague with Eliza Dean and Erin Haines with Be True Designs.  This has been a blast for us and we appreciate your love and support, which has helped The Peach Petticoat grow.  This leads me to the most exciting news... we are MOVING NEXT MONTH!!!  Where to, you ask?  Into one of our most favorite home and gift stores, Ironic Home Decor and Gifts!  If you have never been into Ironic, YOU MUST GO!

They have the cutest iron pieces, as well as the most beautiful decor and unique gifts you have ever seen!  (They even have some Ruffles and Rouge upholstered chairs:)

So, here are the details:  All of The Peach Petticoat's accessories, such as jewelry, boot socks, scarves and purses will be on display in the store at all times AND we will host an in-store trunk show one weekend of every month that will showcase our women's clothing!  We will send out a monthly email blast to let our customers know when the clothes will be on display. We are so excited about taking this next step and hope you will follow along with us!

Facebook auctions for The Peach Petticoat will continue every Tuesday night at 7pm EST and we will still host private trunk shows for anyone interested in our AWESOME hostess incentives.  For more information about The Peach Petticoat, or to be added to our Ironic mailing list, you can contact us at rufflesnrouge@gmail.com!  We hope to see you in 2014!
Happy Shopping~ Shanna
